FINANCIAL COUNSELOR

FINANCIAL COUNSELOR:
Responsible for interviewing patients to determine financial assistance eligibility for various assistance programs.
Able to work independently, managing a dynamic workload, while providing patients and families with outstanding customer service.
Collaborates with departments within the Revenue Cycle and Clinical staff to maximize reimbursement in a timely manner to ensure protection of hospital's financial position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
High School Degree or GED General Studies
Experience:
2-3 years Service Access, Patient Accounting or related field 2-3 years Customer Service
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to operate multiple computer applications; Excellent verbal and written skills; Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; Basic understanding of medical insurance; Medical terminology.
