Vice President of Operations

Commonwealth Hotels seeks a Vice President of Operations to oversee the organization's ongoing operations and procedures.
As a key member of the senior management team, the Vice President of Operations reports directly to the President and supports the policies and guidelines that promote company culture and vision through its operations.
By setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth, the Vice President of Operations will lead the Area Directors of Operations and their teams.
This role is a high-visibility position, requiring strong communication skills and the responsibility of being called upon to positively represent the organization.
The Vice President of Operations must maintain the highest level of integrity and lead by example in all areas.

o Review and approve plans to control budget spending, labor efficiency, new areas of technology, and customer service efficiency.
o Review performance against operating plans, analyze market conditions, and approve changes in plan directions.
o Guide the Operations and Sales Teams by interpreting policies, goals, and purposes of the organization for the team and conducting performance reviews.
o Plan specific strategies and formulate policies so that company goals and objectives are met.
o Oversight of all financial aspects of each hotel:
P & L, Forecasting, and Budgeting.
o Ensure operational excellence for all hotels; provide support, critique, and guidance to the Operational Team when hotels are falling short of brand standards and/or company expectations.
o Select, develop, manage, and lead operational management team members.
o Act as a role model and guide company culture, including vision, mission, and values.

o Guide, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and systems to improve business operations.
o Provide leadership relative to annual marketing plans.
o Ongoing communication with the Operational Team and GMs.
o Review status reports with the Operational Team & GMs and assist in areas where needed.
o Review P & L with General Managers and Accounting.
o Review monthly sales reports with Regional Field Directors of Sales & Marketing.
o Mentor, guide, train, and coach.
o Approve Operations Team expense reports.
o Approve PTO requests.
o Complete Ops Team Annual reviews with input from others.
o Direct programs pertinent to increasing quality and profits.
o Communicates effectively to the President on all pertinent issues.
Requirements:
o Local Candidate to Corporate Office in Covington KY preferred but not required.
o Minimum 5 years experience in a multi-unit, multi-location hospitality company with a minimum of 5 years General Managers experience including a proven track record of growth and profitability.
o Hotel operations experience, specifically with upscale products targeted to the meeting, business transient, and leisure markets would be a plus.
In addition to operations experience, experience in sales or marketing or accounting and finance would be helpful.
A good balance between experience in a sophisticated flag/chain environment and an independent hotel/resort environment is preferred.
o Strong knowledge of hospitality operations development theory and methods and the ability to communicate them effectively to others within the organization.

o Experience in developing and implementing appropriate systems for measuring critical aspects of operational management and development, including its impact on profit and revenue outcomes.

o Strength in influencing people with new ways of thinking to commit and accept responsibility for actions combined with the patience to listen and respond.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
