Job Description:
We are currently seeking a diligent and observant individual to join our team as a Package/Mail Screener.
The Package/Mail Screener will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our office environment by screening incoming packages, mail, and deliveries for potential security threats or hazards.
Responsibilities:
Receive and process incoming packages, mail, and deliveries, verifying sender information and intended recipients.
Inspect packages and mail for suspicious or prohibited items using screening equipment and manual inspection techniques.
Follow established procedures and protocols for handling and identifying potential security threats, including hazardous materials, weapons, or unauthorized substances.
Collaborate with security personnel, office staff, and management to escalate and address any identified security concerns or incidents promptly.
Maintain accurate records of screened items, including logging details of deliveries, recording findings of inspections, and documenting any incidents or anomalies.
Communicate with external vendors, courier services, and postal carriers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any delivery-related issues or discrepancies.
Adhere to all applicable safety regulations, security protocols, and legal requirements governing the handling and screening of packages and mail.
Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned by management to support the efficient operation of the office.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security, mail handling, or related fields is a plus.
Prior experience in a mailroom, shipping/receiving, security, or similar role involving package/mail screening preferred.
Familiarity with screening equipment, such as X-ray machines, metal detectors, or chemical detection kits, is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and observation skills, with the ability to recognize and respond to potential security threats or suspicious behaviors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, visitors, and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry, record-keeping, and communication.
